Yolanda Lockett serves as a Board Member of Haven Homes Detroit, bringing extensive experience in legislative and community engagement. 

 

Though she did not initially see herself in community service, she now recognizes she was being prepared from a young age, raised in a family rooted in community leadership.

 

Yolanda began her work in engagement at the Judge Greg Mathis Community Center, where she saw firsthand the need to better connect residents with vital resources. Her foundation in service started even earlier as a Pathfinder in the Seventh-day Adventist youth program, shaping her passion for mentorship and outreach.

 

Currently serving with the City of Detroit City Council, Yolanda assists residents with senior services, foreclosure support, housing resources, and youth mentoring initiatives. She is deeply committed to being a connector, linking individuals and organizations to the tools they need to thrive.
